Injection mold is a production tool that can repeatedly produce plastic parts or products in large quantities. There are many classification methods for it, and it can be divided into three categories according to the basic structure of the injection mold pouring system: one is the two plate mold, also known as the large water mouth mold; the second is the three plate mold, also known as the fine water mouth mold; the third is the hot runner mold, also known as the no flow channel mold.
Classifications of injection molds:
1. Two plate molds, commonly known as large water mouth molds or single parting surface molds, have a typical structure as shown in the following figure.
2. Three board molds are commonly known as fine water nozzle molds or double parting surface molds. After the three plate mold is opened, it is divided into three parts, with an additional material removal plate (commonly known as a water outlet plate) added compared to the two plate mold. It is suitable for situations where there should be no sprue marks or a large projection area around the plastic parts, and multiple feeding points are required. This type of mold uses a sprue and has a complex structure, requiring the design of a distance separation mechanism.
3. The hot runner mold maintains the plastic in the flow channel in a molten state through a heating system, avoiding the problem of solidified waste in the cold runner mold.
